We all want to belong to something, to someone. We have this longing, this desire to be a part of something, a part of someone else — something outside of ourselves. Be it a job, a community, a family, a circle of friends — we want to belong. Why are we so discontent with simply belonging to ourselves? Why are we so dissatisfied with our own selves?
